Preventive preservation project held at the Saorge Monastery (South France)
During the first year, students at the Inp held a project at the Saorge Monastery in South France. All seven specialty of the Inp (sculpture, paintings, furniture, textiles, ceramics, paper and photographs) were on site. The aim of the project was to perform a complete inventory of the collection and give preventive conservation prescriptions. All the objects were systemically photographed, measured and given an accession number. Basic treatments were performed such as dry cleaning and conditioning. The students realized the design of the new storage and gave an estimation of the budget needed.
